Drums

Justin Cole
At the age of 2, Justin first had his interest in drums piqued by his father’s classic rock live concert DVD’s and VHS tapes, particularly by the dazzling setup of Rush’s drummer, Neil Peart. At his juvenile behest, his parents bought him a drumset at the age of 4 and his first private lesson at 5 years old with southern California’s Ken Cox, who mentored him for years. As soon as the opportunity to play music in school presented itself, he took it, joining his middle school’s concert band in sixth grade, jazz band in eighth grade, and marching band in high school’s freshman year. After continuing in all of these ensembles for all four years of high school, Justin went on to study music performance at UCLA with a concert percussion concentration, whilst playing in the UCLA Marching Band’s drumline, some of the top front ensembles in the country, and freelancing in the Los Angeles area, with past clients including the NFL and the K-Pop group BTS. Justin currently works as a teacher and performer in the Los Angeles area, and can’t wait to share his passion for art and his knowledge of the music industry and music performance with the world.
