Evan grew up in Orange County, California, and has performed various genres including; jazz, punk, alternative rock, funk and gospel music. Evan began playing at the age of 10 and started off playing along to ACDC, Led Zeppelin and Earth Wind & Fire which eventually evolved to him playing in several punk, rock, and jazz bands throughout high school.

He was self-taught until he began his jazz studies at Saddleback College in South Orange County, where he was then mentored by jazz drum faculty, Paul Johnson and Director of Jazz Studies, Joey Sellers. From 2017-2020, Evan developed his craft at Saddleback College by performing with various jazz combos, as well as the Saddleback College Jazz Lab Band and Saddleback College Big Band.

In the Fall of 2020, Evan transferred to California State University of Northridge, where he received his degree of Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies, in the class of 2023. Evan has performed with some of CSUN’s top jazz combos and the CSUN Jazz “A” Band. He was awarded the CSUN Jazz “A” Band-Outstanding Student Award in May of 2021.

He has performed with numerous bands including his own for the past 9 to 10 years. He has performed in a variety of venues throughout Los Angeles and Orange County including the Whisky A Go-Go, Chain Reaction, The Soraya, FTG, and The Mint. Evan has performed with numerous professional jazz musicians including Michael Mull, Adam Hersh, Joey Sellers, Sean Jones, Alex Hahn, Jon Hatamiya, and Ron Stout.
