Ethan Lavenstein

Ethan Lavenstein is a musician, teacher, and composer based in the LA/OC area. Starting the trumpet at age 10, Ethan started in the classical realm, but eventually moved his focus to jazz. He has studied with well-established teachers in the area like Tim Hall, Howie Shear, and Gary Fukishima. Having a large musical toolkit, Ethan also plays piano and does music production. Ethan is currently pursuing a degree in music at California State University Northridge. Ethan has played at venues such as The Mint, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, and various other venues in the LA area. He has played with people such as Gordon Goodwin, Christan Meier, and other local LA musicians. Ethan has played trumpet in the CSUN Jazz “A” Band, one of the top college big bands in the country, for two years now. As a teacher, Ethan emphasizes fundamentals, finding your own unique voice, and having fun along the way!
