Emma Oakley

Emma is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer from Richmond, Virginia, and has been playing music since she was 11 years old. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies from the prestigious music program at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019. A well known figure in the Richmond music scene, Emma has years of experience building her own bands from the ground up, writing songs, booking shows and tours, and handling all business-related aspects of the industry. She has toured internationally with several artists, recorded studio albums of original music, recorded as a session musician, and produced music for other artists. Emma is most fluent in jazz, pop, rock, and country. She currently plays live guitar for artists Crooked Teeth and Cayley Spivey. 

Emma has six years of private teaching experience with students of all ages and skill levels. She emphasizes the fundamentals of music theory, reading sheet music, and improvisation while fostering a long term love of music by teaching students to play songs they enjoy.
