Christopher Sacha, Jr.
Los Angeles-based saxophonist Christopher Sacha, Jr. is a budding performer and educator working throughout Southern California, slowly growing multiple studios throughout the region – from Los Angeles to San Bernardino. His experience on saxophone is aplenty – solo work, jazz combos, jazz ensembles, and chamber music (including works with piano, saxophone quartets, and other collaborative music). Throughout his career, Chris has had the opportunity to work with great classical saxophonists such as Joseph Lulloff and the MANA Quartet. Additionally, he has collaborated with prominent jazz artists such as drummer Lewis Nash, vocalist Carmen Bradford, and saxophonist Gregory Tardy. In 2017, he took part with the Pacific Jazz Ensemble and recorded A Christmas Gift, a jazz album of Christmas classics that features vocalist Carmen Bradford. Furthermore, Chris virtually collaborated with his cohorts in the saxophone studio at the University of Redlands – not too long after completing his Master’s degree – to produce Jennifer Bellor’s “Skylark Lullaby,” a 13-piece saxophone ensemble work.

Aside from performing and teaching, Chris spends his extra time audio engineering. While working towards his Bachelor’s degree at University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, Chris spent 1.5 years training under recording professor Jeff Crawford, and has continued honing his skills by working on projects within and outside of the University of Redlands – including mixing and mastering Valley Youth Philharmonic Orchestra’s virtual Winter 2021 concert.

Outside of music, Chris is a karate instructor with Young Champions. He has been training for nearly 20 years and has been teaching for the last 3 years, currently teaching 3 different in-person locations throughout SoCal (one being Northridge) and 1 online class. Chris also enjoys collecting suits, dress shoes, and the like; plus detailing his and his family’s cars.
